Independent perspective

Our review

Zash ePOS offers a low-entry-cost till and payment arrangement for small operators. The recorded proposal includes till hardware, training and a monthly charge without an initial hardware outlay. Having the till and processing supplied together can also simplify settlement reconciliation. We see an understandable appeal for a standalone bar, restaurant or small accommodation business starting from a basic till.

Our main reservation is the longer commitment behind that low entry price. The recorded term was typically three to four years, while processing rates and early exit fees were not published clearly. Independent product feedback was very limited, and the hotel references reviewed did not establish a broad track record for this particular till. A guest-room posting connection was not available in the recorded assessment.

We would obtain the full processing rate, hardware terms and exit calculation, then compare the cost over the entire contract. Test refunds, settlement reporting and the manual accounting process if the outlet runs separately from rooms.

Our verdict

We recommend considering Zash for small outlets that settle at the point of service and can accept a longer agreement. It is less suited to hotels needing charges on guest room bills or an operator prioritising short-term flexibility. A low upfront cost should be judged alongside the total commitment.

The assessment

What stands out

Strengths

Covers everyday food-and-beverage service. Table plans, orders, split bills, discounts, kitchen output, refunds and end-of-day reporting support common restaurant and bar workflows.

Can combine till and payments commercially. One supplier for EPOS hardware, software and card processing may simplify setup and support for a small venue.

Cloud-based management. Operators can access sales and performance information without relying only on the till at the venue.

Straightforward fit for standalone venues. It focuses on core food-and-beverage transactions rather than presenting itself as a broad hotel platform.

Worth knowing

No hotel PMS integration or room-charge workflow is publicly demonstrated. A hotel must not assume restaurant bills can be posted to a guest room. This is a significant limitation for full-service hotel use.

The public product detail does not establish deep stock, recipe-costing or multi-property reporting at the level some larger operations require. Demonstrate these workflows with real menus, modifiers, service charges, refunds and kitchen routing.

Independent review coverage is insufficient: the Trustpilot profile has only one review and no useful G2, Capterra or Hotel Tech Report corpus was found. Confirm the full agreement across software, hardware and payment processing, including term, exit fees, card rates, outages, replacements and data export.

Operational fit

Where it fits

  • Take and manage table, counter and bar orders.
  • Handle bills, discounts, refunds and card payments.
  • Send orders through configured kitchen or preparation workflows.
  • Provide daily sales, staff and transaction reporting.

Best suited for

Standalone restaurants, bars, cafés and small hospitality venues wanting core cloud EPOS and card payments from one supplier.

May not suit

Full-service hotels requiring room-charge posting, operators needing deep inventory and recipe costing without a demonstrated module, and buyers seeking flexible terms or substantial independent product reviews.
