Independent perspective

Our review

TISSL’s recorded strengths are practical for a food-led hotel: supported PMS room-charge posting, continued till operation when connectivity drops, and an installation package with onsite training. Free self-service data export is another useful feature. We see a credible purpose in country house hotels and independents where the restaurant and bar create substantial daily work.

Our main reservation is the contract and the evidence behind the support promise. The recorded terms include twelve months, ninety days’ notice, automatic renewal and the remaining balance on early exit. The public sample is only five reviews, but includes concerns about costs, service and older software faults. These comments require checking rather than being treated as a complete assessment of the current product.

We would demonstrate room posting with the hotel’s exact PMS, test service during a connection failure and obtain a named reference. Confirm the response commitment and renewal dates in writing. A Mews connection was not established in the reviewed record.

Our verdict

We recommend considering TISSL for food-led hotels with a demonstrated supported PMS connection and enough outlet activity to benefit. It is less suited to a quiet bar needing only a basic till or an operator wanting easy short-term exit. Workflow and service commitments should decide the fit.

The assessment

What stands out

Strengths

Designed around hospitality service. The system covers table service, coursing, menu changes, bill splitting and restaurant reporting.

Supports hotel outlets. Confirmed PMS connections can post food and drink charges to guest rooms and reduce re-entry at reception.

Handles multiple venues. Operators can manage menus, pricing and performance centrally across restaurants, bars and lounges.

Has a broad integration directory. TISSL lists connections across PMS, reservations, workforce, stock, accounting, delivery, loyalty and analytics.

Worth knowing

TISSL EPOS, TISSLPay, TISSL Swift and TISSL Delivery are distinct products. Confirm hardware, payments, handhelds, delivery and support within the proposed price.

A provider appearing in the integration directory confirms that a connection is offered, but the exact data flow, version, prerequisites and commercial terms still need checking. Room charging should be tested against the property's exact PMS and account setup.

There is limited independent product-specific review evidence available publicly, so buyers should ask for references from comparable UK venues and test a complete busy service before committing.

Operational fit

Where it fits

  • Take and route food and drink orders during busy service.
  • Manage menus, tables, bills and reporting from one EPOS system.
  • Post charges to hotel rooms through supported PMS connections.
  • Control menus and performance across multiple outlets or sites.

Best suited for

UK restaurants, pubs, groups and hotel food and beverage operations that need hospitality-focused service, multi-site control and proven connections to their wider operational systems.

May not suit

Operators wanting published self-service pricing, or properties whose required PMS, stock, workforce or payment workflow cannot be demonstrated with the exact versions they use.
