Revenue Management
RoomPriceGenie
RoomPriceGenie is a revenue management system built mainly for independent hotels and small groups. It analyses property performance, demand, events and competitor information to recommend or automatically update room prices. It supports pricing decisions but does not replace the PMS, booking engine or channel manager used to operate and distribute the hotel.
Independent perspective
Our review
RoomPriceGenie uses occupancy and demand information to suggest or update room rates through the connected system. The recorded independent feedback is particularly useful at smaller-property sizes, with a named 19-room UK example. We see its value where pricing is currently another task for an owner or general manager, rather than somebody’s full-time role.
Our main reservation is the ceiling on the depth of the analysis. The product is designed for simpler pricing decisions rather than detailed segment, group or displacement work. The reviewed entry plan also limits reporting history. The recorded commercial arrangement includes a twelve-month commitment, automatic renewal and payment of the remaining term on early exit.
We would test a quiet period, a busy event date and the hotel’s preferred override process. Confirm the exact package, connection, complete price and support arrangements. Automatic rate changes still need a clear pricing strategy and occasional review by the operator.
Our verdict
We recommend considering RoomPriceGenie for smaller independents, guesthouses and groups whose rates are changed by hand or rarely reviewed. It is less suited to a revenue team needing detailed segment and group controls. Its strength is making a useful daily pricing routine manageable, rather than replacing every revenue-management function.
The assessment
What stands out
Strengths
Accessible revenue automation. The product is designed for operators without a large specialist revenue team.
Frequent pricing updates. Recommendations can react to occupancy, pickup, market rates and demand changes without daily spreadsheet work.
Transparent controls. Hotels can set boundaries, inspect suggestions and choose how much automation to use.
Large independent-hotel review base. Reviewers commonly praise ease of use, quick implementation, support and time saved.
Worth knowing
RoomPriceGenie needs a reliable connection to the property's PMS and distribution route before it can read bookings and publish rates correctly. Confirm the exact connection, update frequency and treatment of restrictions and extra-guest pricing.
Functions vary by package. A capability mentioned in a review may belong to a higher tier, so booking windows, portfolio controls, reporting and automation settings should be checked against the proposed plan.
Reviews are very positive overall, but recent complaints include communication and follow-up, connection-specific pricing problems and users wanting more control over particular pricing rules.

Evidence
What this assessment is based on
4/5 for routine automated room pricing. EHM and public review summaries support effective occupancy-led pricing and reduced daily rate work. Missing segment/group pricing and deep forecasting limit advanced revenue use, which is a separate fit check rather than evidence that routine pricing is poor.
View source ↗3/5 editorial workflow-quality rating. Recorded public feedback mentions isolated integration issues; this supports a caution rather than a conclusion that the integration marketplace has systemic important gaps. Original source dates and confidence retained.
