Guest Experience

Photobot

Photobot provides permanent branded photo booths to hospitality and leisure venues on a revenue-share basis. The supplier designs, installs and supports the booth, guests pay for individual sessions, and the venue receives an agreed share of the income. It is an ancillary entertainment and revenue service rather than hotel operations software.

Independent perspective

Our review

Photobot places a branded photo booth in a venue, operates and maintains it, and shares the takings with the venue. The recorded offer has no installation outlay for the venue. We see a straightforward additional income opportunity where guests are already socialising: a busy public bar, regular weddings, parties or functions can provide the footfall the booth needs.

Our main reservation is that the venue supplies the demand. The supplier indicated around 300 sessions a month as a useful threshold, and the installations reviewed were large leisure venues rather than hotels. A quiet hotel should not assume resident guests will generate the same trade. The booth also operates separately from the PMS and tills, with income handled through reports and invoicing. Payment security and data exit details remained unconfirmed in our review.

We would agree the revenue share and settlement process, ask for evidence from a comparable venue and choose the location carefully. Visibility in a social space matters more than simply having spare floor area. Someone still needs to check supplies and report faults.

Our verdict

We recommend considering Photobot for hotels that also trade as busy social or events venues. It is less suited to quiet corporate hotels or small properties relying on residents alone. The low initial outlay is attractive, but returns depend on placement, footfall and guest interest.

The assessment

What stands out

Strengths

No conventional software licence or equipment purchase. A revenue-share model can let a suitable venue test an additional guest experience without funding the booth upfront.

Creates a visible guest activity. Branded photographs can add entertainment and shareable content in busy bars, events spaces and leisure venues.

Managed physical service. Design, installation, maintenance and technical support are handled by the supplier under the proposed arrangement.

Can produce ancillary income. High-footfall venues may earn from space that otherwise generates no direct revenue.

Worth knowing

Return depends on actual paid session volume, not general hotel occupancy. A busy public bar, nightclub, wedding venue or attraction is a more natural setting than a quiet hotel lobby. Ask for evidence from venues with similar footfall and opening patterns.

The booth uses physical floor space and requires dependable power and connectivity. Position, appearance, accessibility, queuing, noise, restocking, faults and removal terms should be agreed before installation.

This is not a PMS, events-system or payments integration. Any guest-data capture, marketing consent or CRM transfer must be separately documented. No dependable independent review corpus was found, and the supplier website was not consistently accessible during this research pass.

Operational fit

Where it fits

  • Offer guests a branded self-service photo experience within the venue.
  • Generate ancillary income through an agreed share of paid sessions.
  • Create printed and digital content guests may retain or share.
  • Add a managed entertainment feature without buying and maintaining booth equipment.

Best suited for

Busy bars, clubs, entertainment venues and hotels with high-footfall weddings, events or public food-and-beverage spaces that can support regular paid use.

May not suit

Quiet, corporate or rooms-led hotels with limited public footfall, venues short of suitable floor space, and operators expecting the booth to connect automatically with core hotel systems.
