iplicit
iplicit is cloud accounting and financial-management software for organisations that have outgrown entry-level accounts packages or older on-premise systems. Its hospitality proposition focuses on multi-entity consolidation, reporting, bank reconciliation, approvals, VAT and importing information from booking and point-of-sale systems. It is not a PMS, POS or hotel operations platform.
Independent perspective
Our review
iplicit offers a more structured finance system for hotel businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets or a basic ledger. Its recorded strengths include multiple entities and currencies, departmental reporting, purchase invoice automation and bank reconciliation. Public reviewers particularly value reporting, automation and UK support. We see the strongest case where a finance manager needs a clearer view across departments or trading companies.
Our main reservation is the complete cost of implementation and daily revenue posting. Pricing is quoted per finance user, with onboarding charged as professional services and a recorded twelve-month minimum without a trial. Our review did not establish a published hotel-system connector, so a PMS feed may require an API build or another supplier. That can add a second contract and continuing maintenance.
We would ask the finance team to test a day’s revenue, deposits and reconciliation, and agree the departmental reporting structure before setup starts. Include the connection, migration and training in the quotation.
Our verdict
We recommend considering iplicit for independent hotels and small groups with a finance owner and a real need for its accounting depth. It is less suited to a micro property without a finance function. The business case should cover the whole finance workflow, not just the ledger licence.
The assessment
What stands out
Strengths
Strong multi-entity finance. Consolidation, inter-company work, multi-currency accounting and group reporting are central parts of the product.
Designed to reduce finance administration. Bank feeds, reconciliation, approvals, billing, revenue recognition and reporting can replace spreadsheet-heavy processes.
Relevant hospitality use cases. The supplier publishes hotel and venue examples involving partial VAT, revenue streams, PMS, spa and room-book connections.
Positive independent feedback. Current G2 and Capterra reviews commonly praise reporting, flexibility, ease of use and support.
Worth knowing
iplicit should be considered as the finance system, not as the hotel’s operational system. The benefit depends on a reliable connection or import process from the PMS, POS, booking and payment systems used by the property.
The public hospitality page describes integrations in general terms but does not prove a live connector to every product in this marketplace. Do not assume that it connects to Mews, Newhotel or another named system without written confirmation of the method and data flow.
Reviewers are positive overall, while recurring cautions include the learning curve, occasional software issues, mobile limitations and the effort required for setup and customisation.
Operational fit
Where it fits
- Consolidate accounts across companies, sites and currencies.
- Automate bank feeds, reconciliation, approvals and routine accounting workflows.
- Provide real-time financial and management reporting for finance teams and budget holders.
- Handle more complex VAT, revenue streams, billing and inter-company accounting.
- Receive hotel operating data where a supported connector or agreed import process exists.
Best suited for
Hotel groups, venues and multi-entity hospitality businesses whose finance teams need stronger consolidation, reporting, VAT handling, approvals and reconciliation than an entry-level accounting package provides.
May not suit
Single-site operators needing only basic bookkeeping, properties looking for a PMS or POS, or businesses that cannot establish a dependable data flow from their hotel systems into the finance platform.
