Door Locks
FLEXIPASS
FLEXIPASS is a digital-key and access-management platform for hotels. It connects supported hotel systems with compatible door-lock technology so guests can use a mobile app, browser-based WebKey, phone wallet, PIN or keycard instead of collecting a conventional room key. The available key method depends on the hotel's locks and wider technology setup.
Independent perspective
Our review
FLEXIPASS turns a reservation into a digital room key while working with supported lock hardware. The browser-based key removes the need for a guest to download an app, which is useful for small properties as well as larger hotels. Named UK examples in the recorded review include a six-room property and a hundred-room hotel. We see its value where key handover creates unnecessary work or limits arrival arrangements.
Our main reservation is the support and compatibility commitment. The supplier is small, and our review did not establish written pricing, contract terms, support hours or a company-held security certification. A marketplace listing alone does not explain how a connection is built or maintained. The precise lock model matters more than a broad statement that a brand is supported.
We would obtain written confirmation for the hotel’s locks and PMS, then test arrival, phone problems and fallback access. Agree who takes responsibility when a guest cannot open the door and what happens outside office hours.
Our verdict
We recommend considering FLEXIPASS as a specific improvement for properties with supported locks and clear fallback arrangements. It is less suited to an operator needing one supplier to manage the whole arrival journey without further coordination. Compatibility and dependable support should decide the purchase.
The assessment
What stands out
Strengths
Works with existing hotel infrastructure. FLEXIPASS is designed to connect different lock brands and hotel systems rather than requiring one proprietary guest journey.
Offers several ways to deliver a key. App-based mobile keys, browser keys, wallet keys, PINs and cards allow properties to choose an approach suited to their guests and locks.
Supports reception-light arrivals. When the PMS and lock workflow are correctly connected, guests can receive access without waiting for a physical key handover.
Generally positive hotel-user feedback. Reviewers commonly value convenience, straightforward guest access, responsive staff and reduced dependence on physical keys.
Worth knowing
Compatibility must be checked at the level of the exact lock model, firmware, PMS and guest journey. A supported brand name alone does not prove that every key method will work at a particular property.
Digital access also needs a fallback for flat phone batteries, lost devices, connectivity problems and guests who struggle with mobile instructions. Test shared rooms, multiple keys, extensions, room moves and emergency access before launch.
The overall Hotel Tech Report score is strong, but several negative reviews describe difficult setup, unreliable operation, weak remote support and poor value. Support is not certified by that platform. Hotels should speak to recent references using the same lock and PMS combination.
Operational fit
Where it fits
- Issue digital room and shared-area access from reservation information where supported.
- Allow guests to open compatible doors using an app, browser, phone wallet, PIN or card.
- Reduce queues and staff work associated with physical key collection.
- Support self-service or reception-light arrival journeys with an agreed fallback process.
Best suited for
Hotels, serviced apartments and reception-light properties with a supported PMS and compatible locks that want to reduce physical-key handling without replacing the whole access system.
May not suit
Properties with unsupported or ageing locks, hotels unable to provide a reliable fallback key process, and buyers who have not confirmed the exact PMS, lock and key-delivery combination.
