Hr Case Management

CleverGoose

CleverGoose is a UK HR case-management and decision-support platform for operational managers. It guides users through matters such as absence, performance, investigations, grievances and disciplinary action, providing structured steps, documents, risk prompts and an audit trail. It supports people management but is not a rota, payroll or general learning system.

Independent perspective

Our review

CleverGoose guides managers through HR cases, helping them follow a consistent process and keep the supporting records. We see a useful purpose where heads of department handle absence, performance or disciplinary matters without an in-house HR specialist. The recorded hospitality examples concern a coffee shop group and a school caterer, rather than a hotel.

Our main reservation is the depth of hotel-specific evidence and the size of the supplier. The public review sample is small: the accessible comments praise clear guidance and adaptable workflows, but they do not establish every function or a hotel track record. Our reference request did not produce a comparable hotel customer. A PMS or payroll connection should not be assumed from the product’s HR purpose.

We would work through a realistic case in the demonstration, check which advice requires professional involvement and establish support, data protection and export arrangements. Consistent guidance can help a manager, but it cannot guarantee a legal outcome.

Our verdict

We recommend considering CleverGoose for groups and larger independents whose managers need a clearer HR case process. It is less suited to an operator looking for staff courses or a full workforce and payroll suite. Its usefulness depends on the quality of the guidance and how managers apply it.

The assessment

What stands out

Strengths

Helps non-specialists follow a consistent process. Step-by-step guidance can make difficult people matters less daunting for hotel and restaurant managers.

Creates records and documentation. Workflows, letters, approvals and an audit trail help HR teams see how cases have been handled.

Can support dispersed operations. Multi-site organisations can give site managers a common process while retaining HR oversight.

Early users value usability and support. The small Trustpilot sample consistently praises clear guidance, adaptable workflows, useful templates and responsive help from the supplier.

Worth knowing

CleverGoose focuses on employee-relations cases. It does not replace workforce scheduling, time recording, payroll, recruitment or a full HR information system. Data may need to be entered separately unless a required connection is confirmed.

Its content is based on UK employment practice, which limits suitability outside the UK. Operators remain responsible for decisions and should involve qualified HR or legal support in serious or unusual cases.

Independent review coverage is very small. Eight Trustpilot reviews are positive but are not enough for a dependable headline score, and no substantial Hotel Tech Report, G2 or Capterra product corpus was found. Published case-study results are supplier evidence and should be checked with references.

EHM identifies guided disciplinary/case processes and consistent handling across sites as a demonstrated strength for operational managers. The thin hotel-specific evidence remains a suitability consideration.
