Aloha

Aloha is NCR Voyix's restaurant point-of-sale family for ordering, payments, kitchen execution and business management. The assessment

What stands out

Strengths

Designed for demanding restaurant service. Aloha has a long history in full-service, quick-service and multi-site restaurant operations.

Supports service continuity. Current Aloha Cloud documentation includes offline operation, while NCR Voyix describes edge execution intended to keep core restaurant workflows operating through connectivity problems.

Central control for groups. Menu, pricing, employee and reporting functions can be managed across one or multiple locations.

Broad restaurant scope. The wider product family can cover fixed and handheld ordering, kitchen operations, payments, loyalty, online ordering and reporting, depending on the selected package.

Worth knowing

Aloha is a product family rather than one identical system worldwide. Aloha Cloud documentation currently states United States availability, while established Aloha POS and newer Aloha Next arrangements may differ by market and reseller. UK buyers must confirm the exact supported product, roadmap, payments arrangement and local support organisation.

G2's Aloha Cloud sample is substantial but mixed. Users value its restaurant focus and breadth, while lower-scoring reviews raise concerns around support, reporting, configuration and parts of the user experience. These themes should be tested against the exact version being offered, because older Aloha and Aloha Cloud are not interchangeable.

Implementation and ongoing changes can involve NCR Voyix, a reseller and third-party systems. Put responsibility for hardware, network, menu build, data migration, integrations and out-of-hours support in writing.

Operational fit

Where it fits

  • Manage restaurant orders, payments and service workflows.
  • Coordinate front-of-house ordering with kitchen fulfilment.
  • Control menus, pricing and selected settings across locations.
  • Provide restaurant reporting and employee controls.
  • Continue supported core workflows during some connectivity interruptions.

Best suited for

Established restaurants and multi-site food-and-beverage groups that need resilient restaurant workflows and are prepared for a structured implementation with clearly assigned support.

May not suit

Small UK operators wanting a simple self-service cloud setup, businesses that cannot confirm local product availability and support, or buyers who need every function and integration from one clearly defined package.
